Meet The Team
Dr. Andrea Wang
Founder
Andrea grew up in the Washington, DC area and completed her undergraduate studies at MIT before pursuing medical training at Saint Louis University and the University of Maryland. During residency, she discovered a passion for reconstructive surgery, which led her to complete a fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery. After serving on the faculty at Columbia University, she chose a change of pace and has been proud to care for Alaska’s medical community since 2007.
She is the only physician in the state who is board-certified in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery and is among the most experienced surgeons in the country in advanced robotic reconstructive procedures.
Andrea is deeply committed to patient-centered care, believing that open, respectful conversation is essential—especially when addressing sensitive and personal concerns. She partners closely with each patient to create an individualized treatment plan focused on restoring comfort, confidence, and quality of life.
Outside of medicine, Andrea enjoys Nordic skiing, yoga, and spending time with her dogs. She loves baking pies and experimenting in the kitchen, has a reverence for peonies and blue poppies. She firmly believes that coffee counts as a complete breakfast. When she’s not in the office or operating room, she’s also pursuing a long-held dream of becoming a helicopter pilot.
